The Plaza of the Elbphilharmonie is one of the most impressive places in the city. The journey up alone – via the long, gently curved escalator – already feels like entering another world. Once at the top, the view opens up: the River Elbe, the harbor, ships, the city and the sky spread out before you.

A place between city and water

The Plaza runs all the way around the building, offering a 360-degree view of Hamburg. People pause here, lean against the railing, watch the water or follow the movement of the ships. Despite its central location, the atmosphere is surprisingly calm – a place to marvel, arrive and take a deep breath in the middle of the city.
